School going children of today feel that Gurbani reading is good but are at a loss to understand that this reading has any connection with their learning intake of gaining knowledge of science in modern education system.They feel it is difficult to invest time during Amrit Vela prior to going to school. The pressure of viewing TV till late at night makes it difficult for them to wake up early in the morning & they remain under tension of catching the bus next day morning to reach school in time. They make the task of their teachers to teach them verydifficult . Whereas it should be an affair of pleasure for teachers as well as students. How can Gurbani reading help them to improve themselves by fine tuning their mind? Can they conquer their mind in school age? These are the general questions asked/discussed at home & in school all over the world .

AIM of this paper is to bring out the latent secrets of the benefits of Gurbani reading for the students & facilitate them to make a head start by elimination of duality in mind & move forward for a successful life at the end of completion of their education phase of life.

There are seven steps to be followed only once in life time for a matter of just 18 days which will sow the seed of Love of NAAM as blessed by Sat Guru Nanak Jee.

It took Sat Guru Jee a period of 238 years to give birth to Khalsa which appeared on the planet on 13APR 1699 as a result of top level pleasure of AKAL PURUKH WAHEGURU. It was the (saint soldier) khalsa of Guru Gobind Singh Jee Maharaj , who cut the roots of mugal rule of terror in INDIA. In fact it is this cooperative movement of SAT GURU JEE with a strength of 0.03 Billion today which is spreading the fragrance of GOD’S LOVE to the humanity (over 7 Billion) at global level.Sri Darbar Sahib Golden Temple at Amritsar is the present divine Head Quater of the LIGHT of GOD’S LOVE. Commendable indeed.Every human being living on the earth has a GURU/GOD & this philosophy of NAAM highlighted in GURU GRANTH SAHIB is applicable to all in these modern times of high technology since world has become like a village. Internet facility of communication is best gift of scientists to the common man. 007 Boeing aircraft had its first flight only after 7000 engineers put in their minds together for 7 years in an area of 7000 hectares of land with investment done by 7 rich people of USA in 1952. It took NASA of USA to facilitate Mr Niel Armstrong to put his first step on the soil of the moon in 8 years time in 1968. This is the outcome of education without which a man lives just like an animal with total negative attitude in life which is contrary to the desire of SAT GURU JEE.

First step is to become a true disciple of GURU.

For becoming a khalsa (saint soldier) & be eligible to enjoy the status of the beloved son of GURU JEE , it is of utmost importance to take KHANDEY DI PAHUL. All other religions have their own code of conduct. A nigura has no place of respect in the society.He must appreciate that living life as a nigura means that he is a fatherless person & it is like a curse for him. It also confirms that he desires to enjoy a life full of EGO. He enjoys the curse of living a pure superficial way of life. EGO is the biggest barrier in his life to become a knowledgeable man. Storing of information in mind is not the aim of education.GURU plays a very crucial role in our life & saves us even in the battle field environments. Every moment of school life needs to be enjoyed by children &hence the role of GURU must be understood at the earliest.

Second step is to get GURU MANTRA from the GURU or his five beloveds while taking Amrit.

Amrit taken in SIKHHY is very powerful & it eliminates all the barriers of enjoying LOVE of SAT GURU JEE. GURU Jee direct us to keep five kakkars as a part of our dress code. The world has two kinds of people. The Hero group belongs to the beloveds of GOD whereas Villain group consists of those who are devoid of LOVE of GOD. These people feel that they are born as self proclaimed Brahmgianies. In fact they belong to Raavan/Duryodhan group. Our role model is BABA DEEP SINGH JEE MAHARAJ who fought in the battle field against the Mugal Army even at an old age & defeated them till he breathed his last at Sri Darbar Sahib , Golden Temple Sri Amritsar. WAHEGURU mantra is given in sikhhy & is the most powerful mantra in the world. Simrann of WAHEGURU mantra is very important to overcome five evils who are acting inside us & always try to eat up ther energy of our body,mind , heart & soul.Since Waheguru mantra facilitates in overpowering of evils (i.e. Lust, greed , sex, anger & ego) & is very simple to speak/recite, we should aim at simrann/chanting it as many number of times as possible during day/night. We will discuss this in more detail about its effects on facilitating the shining of mind (bliss) in coming steps.

Third step now calls for learning the art of LOVING our GURU.

Why is it necessary? Since as a child one feels that he is a very sensitive person but he looses his sensitivity if he gets beating/scolding/threatening – by anyone at home/school/games field etc…..By loosing sensitivity he suffers from grievance/rosh/anger/anguish. All this results in loosing power of concentration of mind which is otherwise very important in the student life. Powers of enjoying LOVE of GURU ensure that he regains his original power of mind even if one has to face a bout in the boxing ring. GURU blesses you to enjoy the feeling of oneness with him. With super powers of enjoying LOVE of GURU , one can take up any challenge in life like becoming a class-I officer in Defence Services or an IAS Officer or an IPS Officer etc…..In my school days (1964) ONE student named S Jasbir Singh was selected to join National Defence Academy & he became an officer at a very young age of 21 years only.By doing simmrann during ambrosial hours of Waheguru mantra , ONE can conquer his mind & develop super powers of concentration.

Sat Guru Nanak Jee has highlighted in Japjee Sahib , ” Amrit Vela sachh naaon Vaddiyayee vicharr……..” For a student it is very important to appreciate the benefits of enjoying Amrit Vela which is wef 0400 hrs to 0700hrs by doing simmrann of Waheguru Mantra.Prior to simrann , one must take bath & sit in straight back position on a bed sheet spread over the ground. One should be fully attentive during this phase of the day. One may desire to read Japjee Sahib ten times during ambrosial hours. He may recite five banies as per directions of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib & further read Sukhmani Sahib. Or he can listen to Gurbani Keertan after doing path of 5 banies etc…. The main trouble as complained by one & all types of gursikhs is that the mind is always wavering during reciting Banies etc…..This is true for all beginners in this direction till they are successful in sowing the seed of LOVE of NAAM . So we now appreciate that to enjoy Gurbani reading with concentration during ambrosial hours , it is of utmost importance to sow the seed of LOVE of NAAM.

Is it a very difficult affair ??? No..No..Not at all!!! What is the short cut devised to succeed in enjoying LOVE of SAT GURU JEE even as a student in school??? Here one can discover it from the reading of biography of a SAINT who has enjoyed NAAM DAAN for 24 hours in his life time. KHALSA PANTH has a wonderful history of martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect the faith of a common man & inspired them to follow their own religion even under the rule of terror. Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Jee Maharaj is refered as HIND DI CHADDAR . My school has been named by enlightened gursikhs as Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa Higher Secondry School located at Devnagar in New Delhi. Chandni Chowk has the most famous Gurudwara known as SEES GUNJ Sahib in DELHI, the capital of INDIA. As a student we should feel inspired by observing the lives of four Sahib Jaddas of Guru Gobind Singh Jee Maharaj WHO demonstrated fearlessness in the face of rulers(terrorists) & did not care to accept the allurements offered to change their life to Islamic way of life. The younger ones Baba Jorawar Singh Jee & Baba Fateh Singh Jee accepted to be bricked alive but remained firm in enjoying the LOVE of GURU GOBIND SINGH JEE MAHARAJ. As a student of school we should keep a book on their life story always with us & remain blissful in LOVE of GURU Jee. The elder ones i.e. Sahibjada Ajeet Singh Jee & Sahibjada Jujhhar Singh Jee fought in the battle field without any thought to surrender to huge enemy’s army till they breathed their last. This is the example set by them for our life style to be observed in LOVE of GURU JEE. One can simply enjoy the LOVE of GURU JEE by waking up during ambrosial hours & doing 3 hours of simmrann just for a matter of 18 days at a stretch.One can start to begin with even wef 0600 hrs. In a week’s time GURU is extra kind to advance this time to 0500 hrs & by the end of second week it gets advanced to 0400hrs.

Sixth step now demands from us to consolidate the LOVE of GURU JEE.

This is very important during whole of life which is full of challenges. Is it possible ??? How can we do it ?? This is possible by reading the life stories of all Bhagats & biography of SAINTS. Reading the life story of our GURUS is the biggest empowerment force for our heart, soul & mind to remain in bliss.Doing SEWA at home or Gurudwara is another item/wing to enjoy the LOVE of GURU JEE. Sewa with LOVE & reverence is the simple formula to remain physically fit & coupled with simmrann makes you a perfect human being. This is the purpose of our life, the most precious gift of GOD. It is not be wasted by falling into bad company of people with superficial way of life . Here we may discuss the time management of our day to day life.Apart from school time of 6 hours , we have 18 hours at our disposal.Sleeping for 6 hours is more than enough. So we have 12 hours at our disposal. Of this balance , we have reserved 3 hours for simmrann. Out of remaining 9 hours three hours can be used for personal hygiene & taking food etc…We still have a net balance of 6 hours for study . These are more than enough since while enjoying powers of LOVE of GURU JEE & being blessed with blissful intelligence , we can cover whole year’s syllabus in less than 1400 hours. Whereas we have at our disposal more than 2100 hours in a year . Balance hours left i.e. 700 hours can be enjoyed in playing games or obeying the orders of our beloved parents/teachers or sewa/service in love of humanity.

The seventh step now calls for understanding the meaning of GURBANI.

We are interested in enjoying bliss of NAAM also known as The LIGHT of SHABD GURU or SATT CHITT AANAND. Guru Amar Daas Jee Maharaj were extra kind to give us the Gurbani of Aanand Sahib.This is the most important Gurbani & is very simple to read & understand its meaning.Guru Jee has questioned in this gurbani ,

” Ehh sareera meria Iss jag main aayekey Kyaa tudh karan kammayya Ki karam kamayya tudh sareera Jaan toon jag main aayya Jin har tera rachhan rachhyya So har mann na vasaayya Gurparsadi harr mann vassayya Purab likhyya paayya Keh Nanak eh sarrer parwan hoyya Jin satgur seon chitt laayya……’‘

After enjoying the ambrosial hours for 18 days at a stretch GURU gets pleased with you & on 19th day GURU blesses you with the boon of sowing the seed of LOVE of NAAM in your heart.How does this seed help you in your student life?? This facilitates us as students to enjoy our studies well during schooling phase of life since learning becomes very interesting & exciting as good as if you are playing a game in the games field . You are blessed with excellent health. Your digestive system becomes perfect & your diet improves 2-3 times. Thus you are now blessed to have conquered the battle of life as a school going child itself. By sowing the seed of LOVE of NAAM you live a fearless way of life. The powers of NAAM give you strength to speak the Truth which makes you NIRBHAOO. This is virtue of AKAL PURIKH WAHEGURU as mentioned in Mool Mantra.
